Itinerary

Day 1: CUSCO – SORAYPAMPA - SOYROCOCHA (L, D)

To start our adventure, we must get up early as we will pick you up after you have enjoyed breakfast at your hotel (we suggest you order a breakfast box to enjoy on the way). We will begin our journey to the village of Soraypampa (3920 mts/12860 ft) passing through the village of Mollepata (2803 mts/ 9196.2 ft).

During a 2.5-hour trek, we will witness an impressive view of snow-capped mountains that will accompany us on the way until we soon reach Soraypampa. Our expert guide will explain to us how long it will take us to reach the impressive Humantay Lagoon, which in total will be a 3 hour round trip hike, and on the way back we will have to speed up the pace to be able to return to the camp.

Walking through an ethereal valley for about 3.5 hours, we will be able to appreciate the snow-capped mountains that surround the valley. Marvel at the presence of the impressive Salkantay (6271 mts/ 20574.2 ft) and Humantay (5862 mts/ 19232.3 ft), both Apus meaning guardians in ancient Inca times. Capture this precious moment with lots of photos. Then we will head towards Salkantaypampa (4154 mts/ 13628.6 ft) where our delicious lunch will already be waiting for us.

We will then hike for another 2.5 hours to finally reach our luxurious overnight camp at Soyrococha (4480 mts/14698.2 ft). Before dinner, you will want to feel a hot shower, followed by a massage session to relieve the tension in your muscles and relax you. After your treatment, the dining tent awaits you with a delicious dinner prepared by our chef. When you wish, you can enter your sleeping tent and rest peacefully surrounded by nature in its purest state.

Day 2: SOYROCOCHA – SALKANTAY PASS – COLLPAPAMPA (B, L, D)

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we start our second day. Our first accomplishment of the day will be to walk for approximately 1.5 hours until we reach the Salkantay pass (4638 mts/ 15216.5 ft). Upon arrival we will be stunned by the magnificent presence of the snow-capped Salkantay (6271 mts/ 20574.2 ft).  To celebrate this incredible achievement in the trek, we will make a toast. Cheers.

As our journey continues, we will discover breathtaking views along the way, also note that if you wish to visit Salkantaycocha, another turquoise lagoon, it will take about an hour round trip; it offers beautiful scenery. Continuing on we approach Wayracmachay (3906 mts / 12814.9 ft) after 3.5 hours. A delicious gourmet lunch with cool drinks will be waiting for you to regain the necessary strength to complete the day. Finally, we will follow the trail for a few more hours until we reach our exquisite camp for the night at Collpapampa (2870 mts/ 9416.0 ft). First we will travel in a private vehicle for 20 minutes to Lucmabamba (2062 mts/ 6765.1 ft). Upon arrival we will be on the original path of the Inca Trail that today we will have the opportunity to discover and explore, we will walk uphill until we reach the site of Llaqtapata (2736 mts/ 8976.4 ft).

The day has arrived, we hope you have plenty of energy to make the most of your time in the spectacular Wonder of the World, Machu Picchu. We will take the bus to reach the citadel. It is a short 30-minute ride.

During high season, between April and July, the lines may be a little longer than usual, but we assure you that the wait will be worth it. You will have an in-depth tour as you stroll through the grounds of the Lost City of the Incas. Ask any questions you may have, as your guide will be happy to answer them. Discover the theories and secrets of this impressive citadel and its enclosures. Afterwards, you will have free time to get lost and capture these precious moments with lots of photos.
